What a weekend

I guess I could call this weekend a fixietrixie re-launch for me here in Toronto.  Unlike some parts of the world, but like some other parts of the world, we've been experiencing some chilly weather here for the past few months.

Weather's been clearing up slowly and this weekend was quite gorgeous.  On Friday, Finn and Denis came out to Toronto and met up with Tom L and myself to ride for a bit.  We met up around noon and rode for several hours.  We rode a couple spots and enjoyed the warmth from the sun peaking through the clouds.

After riding a while, Tom and I wanted to try some rails and found ourselves some to work with.  He was jumping on them like they were nothing and I can honestly say, if it wasn't for him, Finn, and Denis pushing me on, I never would've gotten myself on those rails.  They were WAY higher than what I wanted to start learning with, but they were apparently doable haha.  Tom was also doing them pegless and they obviously looked mad slick.  You wouldn't expect anything less.

Anyways, after we were basically done riding for the day, Denis pulled off this crazy parkour stunt! Haha, it was pretty funny watching it, so I had to get a picture of it!

The next day I woke up bright and early (9am.. haha) to catch the train out to Oakville to ride with Denis and Finn once more and hopefully catch some clips for an edit I've been working on while I had a little time between all my assignments/midterms and my final exams.  We hit up our "secret club house" and felt reaaaaaally sleepy, baking in the sun.  We managed to ride a little in between our naps, but not too much in comparison to the previous day haha.

We were pretty tired since meeting up, but Finn took us to this "small" ledge and I hurt myself.  Maybe it's just because I'm a small guy, but these rails didn't look as small as he'd described them, but I had a go at it.

I was able to catch a quick clip of me on the rail and here's a shots of me falling that Finn took.

I know it's not much compared to all the big rails being done nowadays, but after a harsh winter, I'm pretty stoked on finally building up the courage to get on a rail.

I haven't hurt myself nearly as much since last summer but I also haven't had as much fun either.  It's all part of the game, and as long as I don't break any bones, I'll go home happy.

I've gathered a few clips here and there and have put most of them together, so keep an eye out for that maybe..... tomorrow?
