Breakbrake17 26" production build

I received my Breakbrake17 frame earlier this week but haven't had a chance to put it together until just yesterday, and as soon as I got some free time, I went straight to it!  Everything on this build is just transferred over from my previous bike except for the 175mm Unknown cranks, and the Breakbrake17 bars, both of which actually made a huge difference in the feel of the bike.

This frame clears 36T on either side with NO spacers and no crimps.  The picture above is the Unknown 36T sprocket with no spacers at all.  The frame doesn't have an outside crimp on either side, so it'll be super strong and will take a lot of abuse without a problem. "If you break your frame, you can have mine!"  Haha, no.  You can't have mine, sorry.  :P


So these are the Unknown 175mm cranks.  They're a little slimmer than the regular Joes, and so they're lighter.  They seem to be pretty stiff and strong, so I'm not worried at all.  100kg+ rider YJ in Korea has been on these for months with no problems at all, so I'm sure it can withstand my weight for sure haha.


These also came with a hollow spindle.


Of course the 14mm dropout and the 17 cutout.


My worn in YNOT strap, the whites got a little dirty after a while, but it matches my seat!! :D




Barspin clearance.  I've been asked this question a billion times and finally here it is.  I've been waiting for longer cranks to show proper clearance.  So with 175mm cranks and 26x2.3 tires, it clears the pedals for sure.  Depending on how deep you put your feet into the straps, you'll get a little toe overlap, but nothing to cry about.  As you can see, there's ample room for your toes!

So there it is, that's my new bike!  My initial thoughts are that it look SICK!  I haven't had time for a full sesh on it yet, but from the riding I've done so far, it feels ridiculously good.  There's a couple more pictures over at my Flickr, so feel free to check those out.  I'll definitely be riding soon, so expect more updates soon!
