New toys: flashes!!
Every since I stumbled into "photography", I've dreamed of being able to afford a proper flash setup, they can make tremendous improvements in photos if set up correctly. Well there's no way I could afford the proper stuff, so I settled for some optical slave flashes, they just fire whenever they see a change in light intensity, so a flash on the camera can set them off. You can't adjust their intensity or anything, but with proper settings on the camera, I think you could get close to what you'd want..? I hope at least haha.
I took those above bike shots with the two flashes mounted in shoes to hold them upright haha. I still need to experiment with different angles and settings, but so far, I'm loving it! It's a little frustrating outdoors though because the camera flash doesn't bounce off of anything, so the flashes need to be slightly facing the camera at all times in order to fire its own flash, I think.. Either way, it's better than nothing for now!
